In Loving Memory…

Kenneth Mark Stone, 53, of Sedalia, died in the line of duty on Friday, August 23, 2013, in Sedalia.

He was born June 30, 1960, in Branson, MO, son of Donald Dean and Edna Rosella Wise Stone.

Kenny served our community as a paramedic and died after working a call. He most recently worked for APSI in Sedalia, but had spent a career serving at the Sni-Valley Volunteer Fire Department (where he was assistant chief), Oak Grove EMS, Lifeguard Ambulance, Warsaw-Lincoln Ambulance, Lexington Fire Department, Golden Valley EMS and Air-Evac. He also taught CPR and EMT classes over the years.

Kenny devoted most of his life to his work, but enjoyed fishing and canoeing in his free time.

Surviving are a son, Jacob Stone, of Blue Springs; a sister, Donna Deboer, of Blue Springs; a brother, Jeffrey Stone, of Blue Springs; and a grandson, Logan Stone.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church in Sedalia, with the Rev. Cale Magruder officiating.

Casket bearers will be Ryan Smith, Dan Gerlach, John Cline, Raymond Phillips, Nathan Hawkins and John Cook.

Honorary bearers will be Logan Stone, Adam Allee, David Jenkins, Jeff Phillips and management and staff of American Paramedical Services, Inc. and Air-Evac.

Graveside services will be at 3:00 p.m. Thursday at Frasier Cemetery in Boaz, MO.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Heckart Funeral Home in Sedalia.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund in Kenny’s name has been established at Equity Bank and may be left at the funeral home.
