Kenneth R. Rush

Kenneth Raymond Rush, 84, of Sedalia, passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at the Living Center in Marshall, MO. 

He was born July 11, 1940, in Beaman, MO, a son of John and Elsie (Brannen) Rush. 

He was a beloved member of Parkway Freewill Baptist Church, where his faith and dedication were a testament to the values that defined his life

Kenneth served his country with honor for 22 years in the United States Air Force. His service was marked by courage, integrity, and commitment to the mission. After retiring from the Air Force, he continued to serve in a different capacity, working as a security guard for Hayes Wheels, where he earned the respect and friendship of many.

In his free time, Kenneth found peace in the simple joys of life. He was an avid fan of crossword puzzles and word searches, often spending hours challenging his mind. He also loved fishing, finding tranquility by the water with his rod in hand.

Kenneth's legacy will live on through his family, friends, and all who were touched by his gentle spirit and quiet strength. He is survived by one daughter, Gale Payne Burton, of Missouri; one sister, Lena; one stepsister, Deloris Oelrichs, of Sedalia, MO; two granddaughters; one great-granddaughter; one special niece, Roberta Williams and many other nieces and nephews; three great-nephews, Tristen, Cameron and Emery Williams; one great-great-nephew, Clinton. 

In addition to both of his parents he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Grace Rush. 

Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until service time on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at Heckart Funeral Home in Sedalia, MO. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Highland Sacred Gardens Cemetery with full military honors. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
