Kimberly Ann (Baslee) Gardner, 60, of Lexington, KY, formerly of Sedalia, passed away Saturday, October 26, 2024, in Lexington.
She was born March 26, 1964, at Lockbourne AFB, in Columbus, OH, daughter of Wayne and Wilma S. (Bishop) Baslee.
Kim was a 1982 graduate of Smith-Cotton High School and earned degrees from UMKC and SMSU. She worked for a time at the MU Veterinary Clinic and for Boyce and Bynum. She was primarily a homemaker, dedicating her life to her daughters.
She grew up in the Immanuel United Church of Christ in Sedalia. Kim loved her family dearly. She was a people person who was always smiling and upbeat. She enjoyed watching movies, and spending time on the lake in South Carolina, where she had a second home.
Surviving are two daughters, Maddie Hurd (Zach), of Kentucky, and Reis Gardner, of North Carolina; her mother, Wilma Baslee, of Sedalia; her brother, Mitch Baslee (Kendra), of Cole Camp; nieces, Kara and Kelsie Baslee; nephew, Kyle Baslee; and her former husband, Kelly Gardner.
She was preceded in death by her father, Wayne Baslee.
The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 9, 2024, at Heckart Funeral Home, where memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the Sedalia Animal Shelter, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
