Kyle Andrew Riley, 45, of Sedalia, passed away Thursday, April 13, 2023, at University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia.
He was born November 16, 1977, in Sedalia, son of Mike Riley and Valerie (Weber) Bloess.
Kyle was raised in Sedalia. He graduated from Smith-Cotton High School in 1996. He went on to the University of Missouri, Columbia where he earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. Kyle worked as an industrial engineer.
In his travels he visited and fell in love with Hawaii. His years in Hawaii were filled with sunsets, sailing, salvaging and restoring boats. Kyle loved his friends, cats
and
dogs and an old cabin on the Little Niangua.
He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Parish and attended Sacred Heart Chapel.
Survivors include his parents, Valerie and Steve Bloess; two brothers, Chris Riley, and Dru Bloess (Kendra), all of Sedalia; three nieces, Mary Eden, Braelyn and Everly; one nephews, Nash; and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Mike Riley; grandparents, Larry and Eileen Weber, Charles Riley, Dorothy Riley and Jack Bloess; and a cousin, Nicholas Burr.
A prayer service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at Heckart Funeral Home with Father Joe Corel officiating.
Casket bearers will be Jake Johnson, Emerson Goss, Lee Haney, Virgil Tagtmeyer, Barney Knight and Traci Marriott.
Visitation will be from 9:30 am until service time Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at the funeral home.
Private family burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery.
