Laura Ruth Oelrichs

Laura Ruth Oelrichs, 90, of Mora, passed away Sunday, March 9, 2025 at Bothwell Regional Health Center.

She was born May 6, 1934, in Tribune, KS, a daughter of the late H.W. and Amanda (Heess) Becker. On January 10, 1954, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Cole Camp, she married Raymond F. Oelrichs, who preceded her in death on August 6, 1998.

Laura grew up in Tipton and was a 1952 graduate of Tipton High School.

She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Cole Camp.

During Laura’s working years, places of employment included Town & Country Shoes, Pit Stop Café, Rival Manufacturing and babysitting.

Laura enjoyed flowers, houseplants, reading, and crossword puzzles. She had a special connection with her dog, Blaze, who was her constant companion.

Survivors include four children, Rhonda Rose, of Alexandria, VA, Steven Oelrichs (Kimberlee), Wayne Oelrichs, and Ron Oelrichs, all of Mora; two siblings, Dorothy Tankersley (Paul), of Versailles, and Edward Becker (Alma), of Lebanon; six grandchildren, Michelle Loughery (Sean), Janelle Strathman (Joe), Amber Carver (Dustin), Darin Oelrichs (Tara), Riley Oelrichs and Andrew Oelrichs; three step-grandchildren, Margaret Lindsley, Alice McDonald (Rafael) and Michael Rose, Jr.; seven great-grandchildren; six step great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Laura was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Becker and Norman Becker; a grandson, Eric Oelrichs; son-in-law, Michael Rose; and nine step-sisters and step-brothers.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 am, Saturday, March 15, 2025 at Heckart Funeral Home with the funeral service following at 11:00 am with Rev. Sandy Schlesselman officiating.

Pallbearers will be Steven Oelrichs, Wayne Oelrichs, Ron Oelrichs, Jimmy Brown, Riley Oelrichs and Darin Oelrichs. Honorary pallbearer will be Andrew Oelrichs.

Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.

The family suggests memorial contributions to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Daycare in care of Heckart Funeral Home.
