Lavina B. Bedell
LaVina Blanche Bedell, 87, of Sedalia, passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2016, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Jefferson City.
She was born November 4, 1928, in La Monte, daughter of John Z. and Elsie Sivils Comfort, who preceded her in death. On July 3, 1959, at Whiteman AFB, she was married to Norman R. Bedell, who preceded her in death on January 2, 2000.
Mrs. Bedell was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She loved traveling and was proud to have lived in Germany, France and England.
Surviving are three children, Rhonda Bedell, of California, MO, Tracy Bedell (Patricia), of Jefferson City, and Shawn Bedell, of La Monte; nine grandchildren, Richard, Derek, Jeremy, Jacob, Haley, Kyle, Taylor, Tyler and Caitlyn; four great-grandchildren, Kaydence Apel, Zoey Apel, Kylie Estes and McKenna Monteer; and two sisters, Margaret Hall, of La Monte, and Clara Moore (Dennis), of Nevada.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Janet Diane Bedell; and five siblings, George Comfort, Ernest Comfort, Rachel Younce, Anna Russell and Charlene Miller.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 28, at Heckart Funeral Home, with the Rev. Don Satterwhite officiating.
Casket bearers will be Richard Apel, Jeremy Schmadeke, Derek Apel, Jacob Estes, Tyler Bedell and Freddy Monteer.
Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 31, in Crown Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time Saturday at Heckart Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the family, in care of the funeral home.
