Lawrence Wilbert Vollmer, 70, of Green Ridge, passed away on Friday, December 27, 2024, at his home.
He was born on January 27, 1954, in Pettis County, the son of Francis and Martha (Twenter) Vollmer.
Lawrence was a graduate of Green Ridge High School. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for Howard Construction and also as an over-the-road truck driver. He was a past member of the Rod and Gun Club. He enjoyed building street rods, trap shooting, and hunting. He was of the Catholic faith and was known for his love of life. Lawrence will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by brothers and sisters, Henry (Karen) Vollmer, of Nelson, Mary (Mike) Ross, of Sedalia, Linda (Glen) Temple, of Sedalia, Ruth (Paul) Oswald, of Otterville, and Edna Vollmer, of Sedalia; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Herman Vollmer and Richard Vollmer.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 4, 2025, at Heckart Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time.
Burial will be at a later date in St. John’s Cemetery, Clear Creek.
Memorials are suggested to St. John’s Cemetery, in care of Heckart Funeral Home.
