Leanna R. Horn, 83, of Sedalia, passed away Friday, January 13, 2017, at E.W. Thompson Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born August 21, 1933, one of five children of William F. and Mabel Hildebrandt Rasa.
On October 31, 1952, at the United Church of Christ in Sedalia, she was united in marriage to Vernon L. Horn, who preceded her in death on May 2, 2016.
Leanna was a graduate of Smith-Cotton High School. She attended the University of Kansas City, Dickinson Secretarial School, and later State Fair Community College. She worked in tax preparation.
She was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ and served as the first chairman of Open Door Service Center, trustee of Boonslick Regional Library, and was a former member of Pettis County Red Cross, where she served as a specialist for the National Red Cross on 15 national disasters.
Leanna and Vernon traveled extensively in Europe, Alaska and the United States. She enjoyed cooking, collecting antiques, rug hooking and needlepoint.
Survivors include nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 17, 2017, at Heckart Funeral Home, with the Rev. Cathy Jurgens officiating.
Casket bearers will be Jim Chancellor, Alan Meyer, Robert Meyer, Larry Brownfield, John Meyer and Charles Wise.
Burial will be in Mt. Herman Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the funeral home.
