Lee Arthur Morris, 75, passed away on Saturday, June 14, 2014, at Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa.
Lee was born in St. Paul, Minnesota, on February 16, 1939, to Arthur L. and Thekla C. Morris. He graduated high school in 1957 and enlisted in the Navy that same year. He married the late Dorothy L. Morris on September 2, 1960. Lee entered the U.S. Coast Guard in 1960, retiring in 1979. He then owned and operated Morris TV in Unionville, Missouri. He earned his B.S.E. and Master’s in Business Education and taught at Tipton High School from 1986 until retiring in 1997. He married Marcia North Eilers on October 4, 1991. Lee was a member of the Chief Petty Officers Association, Coast Guard CW Operators Association and the Missouri Retired Teachers Association.
Lee is predeceased by his mother, Thekla Charlotta Nelson Morris; his father, Arthur Lee Morris; and his first wife, Dorothy Lee Newell Morris.
Lee is survived by his wife, Marcia; two daughters; Cindy (Chris) Cox of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Susan (Steve) Chronister of Des Moines, Iowa; step-daughter; Susan (Jimmy) Hoffman of Marshall, Missouri; sister; Carol (Ron) Muecke of Bellevue, Washington; and two grandchildren, Clara Cox and Seth Chronister.
Lee’s visitation and memorial will be held on Sunday, June 22, 2014, at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 3820 S.W. 9

Street in Des Moines. A military funeral will be held at Springfield National Cemetery, Springfield, Missouri, on Wednesday, June 25, 2014.
