Leroy Turpin, 75, of Otterville, passed away Friday, September 1, 2017, at Tipton Oak Manor.
He was born June 18, 1942, in Kansas City, MO, son of Roy Wesley Fountain Turpin and Mary Izzetta Sumner Turpin, who preceded him in death.
On May 5, 1975, in Fortuna, he was united in marriage to Brenda G. Dowell, who survives of the home.
Leroy worked for Fischer’s Pool Factory for 18 years, and later worked for Missouri Fiberglass, the City of Otterville, and as a farmer. He and Brenda owned B&L Market in Otterville for 19 years. He enjoyed working on cars, hunting, fishing, and going to tractor pulls.
In addition to his wife of 42 years, survivors include three sons, Wayne Turpin, James Turpin and Tim Turpin; five grandchildren, Michael, Kimberly, James, Kayla and Tristan; and a sister, Darlene Boehm, of Raymore.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 5, at Heckart Funeral Home, with the Rev. Russ Slocum and Jeff Page officiating.
Honorary bearers will be Butch Castle, Kays Harrison, Garnett Kowalski, Tom Boehm, Royce Boehm and Sidney Boehm.
Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until service time Tuesday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Hickman Cemetery near Clarksburg.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the family.
