Leslie Dale Hays, 74, of Austin, TX, died Sunday, September 6, 2015, in Austin.
He was born May 28, 1941, in Florence, son of August L. and Edith L. Jobe Hays.
Leslie owned and operated ATEX Trucking. He enjoyed fishing, boating and hunting.
Surviving are his former wife, Carolyn Parmley; six children, Margo Diamond, Leslie Hays Jr., Michael Hays, Janie Hall, John Hays and Kelly Ann Hays; five step-children, Paula Brown, Kenny Porter, Jerry Parmley, Dalana Goetz and Doug Parmley; 20 grandchildren; 11 step-grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and five siblings, Larry Hays, Esther Katz, Debra Mutz, Pamela Bird, and Michael Hays.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Hotsenpiller Hays; a daughter, Christina Williams; a brother, Ronald Hays; and a sister, Inez Hays (in infancy).
Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, September 12, at Heckart Funeral Home, with Walter Mutz officiating.
Casket bearers will be Michael D. Hays, Leslie Hays Jr., Michael S. Hays, John Hays, Kenny Hays, Augustas Orcutt, Travis Hall, Jack Hays and Phillip Hays.
Burial will be in Union Cemetery in Florence.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
