Linda Lou Fry, 76, of Otterville, passed away Saturday, November 4, 2017, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia.
She was born May 12, 1941, in Otterville, daughter of Arthur and Maude (Thomas) Brodersen.
On June 24, 1959, in Otterville, she was married to the love of her life, J.D. Fry for 49 years until his passing on December 8, 2008.
Linda first became an elementary teacher in 1973 and eventually the principal of Otterville School, retiring from that position in 1998. She held a Specialist’s degree from Central Missouri State University
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Otterville and attended Bethlehem Baptist Church near Florence. She had served on the Otterville School Board and was currently serving on the Co-Mo Electric board.
She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, overseeing the farm and reading. She will be remembered for her care and compassion for others.
Surviving are a daughter, Lori Bestgen (Steve), of Oak Grove; a son, Delbert Fry (Rita), of Otterville; seven grandchildren, Adam, Andy, Brookelyn, Sarah, Jacob, Paige and Delaney; six great-grandchildren, Aiden, Alec, Logan, Lylah, Ash and Ava; two brothers, Tom Brodersen, of Shenandoah, IA, and Duane Brodersen, of Syracuse; and a sister, Goldie Jones, of Lee’s Summit.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Becky Ann Brodersen.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 8, at First Baptist Church of Otterville, with the Rev. Russ Slocum and the Rev. Steve Robinson officiating.
Casket bearers will be Adam Bestgen, Andy Bestgen, Jacob Fry, Aiden Bestgen, Travis Hagedorn and Cary Brodersen.
Honorary bearers will be all of her friends and students.
Burial will be in I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Otterville.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 7, at the church.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Otterville School, where a scholarship fund will be established in Mrs. Fry’s name.
