Lois E. Lewis

Lois Ernestine Lewis, 92, of Sedalia, passed away Wednesday, September 13, 2017, at Sylvia G. Thompson Residence Center.

She was born July 12, 1925, in Clifton City, daughter of Donald Arthur Bonell and Rhozell Sara Lee Bonell.

She started school at the Broadway School in 1931.

On January 25, 1952, in Kansas City, she was married to Robert William “Bob” Lewis, who preceded her in death. She and Bob lived in Indiana for five years, in Colorado for 28 years, and moved back to Sedalia in 1999.

Lois worked as a county appraiser for many years. She also owned a dress shop in Paonia, Colorado. She was a Baptist, attending the Calvary Baptist Church that was on Broadway, and was an ardent Bible student. Her favorite Bible verse was Job 23:10. She also enjoyed crocheting and reading.

Private services will be held. Burial will be in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville.
