Lois E. Trimnal

Lois E. (Young) Reichel Trimnal, age 93, passed away peacefully in her home in Floresville, TX on Monday, June 26, 2017. She was born on September 4, 1923 in Sedalia, MO to Laura Bell (Berry) and Harry Young.

A dedicated and hard worker, her career in Civil Service began as one of the first employees at Whiteman AFB in Knob Noster, MO, where she progressed from an entry level position with only orange crates for her desk and chair, to becoming the Chief Operator of the switchboard for the entire base.

She culminated her career as the Executive Secretary to the Command leadership of the Human Resources Lab at Brooks AFB in San Antonio, TX.

Lois was active and energetic throughout her life. She loved to dance, at first to the Big Bands and later with her son to Country music. Her hobbies included sewing, solving crossword puzzles, and playing bridge and solitaire. She delighted in maintaining a spotless home.

Lois was twice widowed. She was preceded in death by husbands, Snyder James Reichel (married 1947-1953), and Charles Irby Trimnal (married 1957-2007); siblings, Ethel, Harry, Eva, Ed, Jim, Dempsey, and Bill.  Lois is survived by her son, Terry Reichel of Floresville, TX; daughter, Jeanette Trimnal Lamers and her husband, David of San Antonio, TX; her brother, Harvey Young of Sedalia, MO; her nephew, Billy Young (whom she thought of as her son) and his wife, Leah of Sedalia, MO; sister-in-law, Naydne Young of Sedalia, MO; and numerous nieces, nephews, and grandpuppies.

A loving and caring daughter, sister, wife and mother, Lois, Sissy, Loey, Lo, Blue Eyes, Mrs. T, Miss Lo will be missed by all. The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff of Kindred Hospice.

Additionally, the family would like to thank her caregiver, Carmen Garcia. Carmen, muchas gracias por su amoroso cuidado.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 6, at Heckart Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Children’s Mercy Hospital.
