Louis Lee Kroos, 77, of Sedalia, passed away Friday, August 11, 2017, at his home.
He was born March 21, 1940, in Pettis County, son of Louis W. Kroos and Mary D. (Hall) Kroos.
On November 6, 1977, in Sedalia, he was united in marriage to Alice Faye (Finch), who preceded him in death on February 13, 2011.
Louis was a self-employed farmer all his life. He was skilled in many areas, including backhoe work, electrical, plumbing, carpentry and roofing. He was always glad to help anybody with anything they needed done. Louis was a kind, loving, compassionate, hardworking man who would give the shirt off his back. He treated everyone with respect and always had a smile. He didn’t know a stranger.
In his younger years, he and Alice served as 4-H and FFA leaders. He loved animals and working on the Christmas floats. One of his favorite things to do was going to yard sales. He loved his two dogs, Gabriel and Scooby, but his grandchildren were his greatest joy.
He was a member of First Baptist Church.
Surviving are his two children, Sharrie F. Shull and Terry L. Shull; five grandchildren, Keishia, Keannia, Shandi, Cody and Doug; four great-grandchildren, Jesse, Nicholas, Bryce and Kayden; and a host of cousins and other family and friends.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 16, at Heckart Funeral Home, with David Ball officiating.
Casket bearers will be Terry Shull, Travis Brinkerhoff, Cory Smith, Seth Johnson, David Harrison and Mike Tincher.
Herschel Cantrell will be an honorary bearer.
Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time Wednesday at Heckart Funeral Home.
