Lucille E. Davis, 103, of Sedalia, died Thursday, September 30, 2021 at Sylvia G. Thompson Residence Center.

She was born January 31, 1918 in Pettis County, third daughter of Rollie J. Thomas and Bessie Brownfield Thomas. On June 20, 1938 in Sedalia, was married to Wayne W. Davis, who died December 29, 1991.

Over 20 years she was active in the 4-H clubs, Extension Club, Osage Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Jolly Elders, and Bothwell Auxiliary. She was a caregiver to her family and friends. She enjoyed gardening, collecting butterfly pins and her Norman Rockwell collection. She was an accomplished seamstress and avid reader. Lucille enjoyed farming with her husband, and also co-founded Davis Realty Co. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Surviving are two brothers, Otis Thomas, of Sedalia, and Zeb Thomas, of Sedalia; twenty nieces and nephews; and numerous great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Thomas; four sisters, Grace Bremer, Bernice Bary, Barbara Rayl and Melva Ruth Campbell.

Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, October 1, 2021 at Heckart Funeral Home.

Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 2, 2021 at Highland Sacred Gardens, with Karis Thomas and Michael Riley officiating. The service will be livestreamed and can be found on Heckart Funeral Home’s Facebook page.

Pallbearers will be Karis Thomas, Dwayne Thomas, Michael Riley, Charles Rayl, Jr., Roy Lyn Rayl and Mark Thomas.

The family suggests memorial contributions to Calvary Baptist Church or a charity of donor’s choice in care of Heckart Funeral Home.
