Lura Ann Wasson, 73, of Sedalia, passed away on Friday, July 28, 2017, at EW Thompson Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Lura was born on May 9, 1944, in Sedalia, daughter of Frank and Ruby Fowler.
On December 3, 1961, at East Sedalia Baptist Church, Lura was united in marriage to her husband Gary, who survives of the home.
Lura worked in dietary at Bothwell Regional Health Center for 25 years.
She was a member of Parkview Christian Church and loved her church family very much.
Her hobbies included spending time on Facebook, especially on Farmtown, crocheting and fishing. She loved her dog, Maggie.
Lura will be remembered as very loving, kind and generous.
Including her husband, Gary, Lura is survived by her daughter, Stephanie Masters (Dwayne), of Sedalia; a son, Stephen Wasson (Jo), of Belton, TX; two granddaughters, Haley Wasson Zaruba (Matt), and Chelsey Wasson; and two great-granddaughters, Carson and Parker Jo Zaruba.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Jack Fowler and Frank Fowler, Jr.; and sister, Ruby Homan.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 7, 2017, at Parkview Christian Church, with Rev. Rodney Brown officiating.
Casket bearers will be Dale Guerrini, Jim White, Rick Muessig, Aric Wasson, Larry Yeager and Richard Stewart.
Honorary casket bearers will be Mike and Mary Matchael, and Max and Martha Fields.
Burial will be in Highland Sacred Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until service time Monday at the church.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Parkview Christian Church or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
