Madeline Dillon

Madeline (Ream) Dillon, 73, of Sedalia, passed away Sunday, March 24, 2013, at her home, surrounded by her children and grandchildren.

She was born April 20, 1939, in Pettis County, daughter of Francis Leslie and Catherine Margaret Broyles Ream. On February 14, 1957, in Sedalia, she married Henry A. “Jake” Dillon, who preceded her in death on October 5, 2005.

Mrs. Dillon was a 1957 graduate of Hughesville High School. She worked for Sears and J.A. Lamy Manufacturing. She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church. She was a loving, caring mother and grandmother who enjoyed her grandchildren’s activities.

Surviving are a daughter, Beverly Dillon, of Sedalia, and her children: Jeremy Cox (Erica) and Stephanie Elwood (Jason); a son, Randy Dillon, and his wife, Gale, of Green Ridge, and their children: Ashley, Ragin, Conner and Kylee Dillon; a daughter, Donna Coulter, and her husband, Gary, of Sedalia, and their children: Amanda and Megan Coulter; a daughter, Shiela Bunker, and her husband, Bill, of Sedalia, and their children: Hunter, Spencer and Jake Bunker; five great-grandchildren, Dylan, Evelyn and Madalyn Elwood, and Landen and Lydia Cox; a brother, Francis “Hoover” Ream, and his wife, Eva Ruth, of Sedalia; a sister, Margaret Klein, of Sedalia; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by seven siblings, Abraham Ream, Ada Jeffries, Mary Lou Buckley, John Ream, Harvey Ream, Beverly Ream and Annabelle Parker.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 28, at Our Savior Lutheran Church, with Pastor Chris Kellogg and Pastor Andrew Tessone officiating.

Casket bearers will be Rick Dillon, Steve Dillon, Brett Liesemeyer, Perry Ream, David White and Phillip White.

Honorary bearers will be her grandchildren and Kay Matthews.

Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Heckart Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Our Savior Lutheran Church, Purple Stride (pancreatic cancer network), or the Canon Cancer Center at Bothwell Regional Health Center.
