In Loving Memory…

Maralee S. Dinsdale

Maralee S. Dinsdale, 60, of Sedalia, passed away Thursday, December 14, 2017, at University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia.

She was born in Fairfax, MO, on March 20, 1957, the daughter of Ralph and Mary Sweeton.

On May 21, 1984, in Rock Port, MO she was united in marriage to Kevin T. Dinsdale.

While growing up Maralee’s passion was competitive barrel racing. Throughout her life she touched the lives of countless people through both her teaching and love of horses. She taught physical education and English at South Holt R-1 in Oregon, MO, English and library at Brookfield R-2, Junior High English at Carrollton, and retired as librarian at Smith-Cotton High School five years ago. After retirement she opened One More Time Arena, where her passion of competitive barrel racing developed into coaching youth and helping them develop their own passion for competitive barrel racing. She always wanted to see the best in people and knew how to bring it out. She will be remembered as an encourager and someone who could offer the best advice. She didn’t know a stranger and was very outgoing. She also loved to dance.

Surviving are her husband, Kevin, of the home; daughter, Randi Battson (Jed), of Sedalia; grandchildren, Jackson Schmidt and Clancy Battson; sister, Nancy Mutzbauer (Barry), of Springfield, IL; brother, Randy Sweeton (Linda), of Rock Port; and her dog, Dot.
