Margaret E. Paul

Margaret Paul, 96, went to be with her Lord on June 6, 2018, after a brief illness in Hickory, NC. She was born March 10, 1922, in Columbia, MO, to Emmerson Davis and Annie Hubbard Allen, and was the 13th of 14 children. She was preceded in death by her 7 brothers and 6 sisters, and by Rex Paul, her husband of 55 years.

She met Rex during World War II when they worked for Douglas Aircraft in California. After the war, they returned to Missouri for 10 years until a new job took them to Dover, Delaware. She lived in Dover for 60 years, and retired from the US Post Office in 1985. She was a Sunday School teacher and superintendent, Girl Scout leader, and a proud 70 year member and past local president of the National Association of Family and Community Education. For the past year, she made her home in North Carolina. She never met a stranger, as she embraced everyone she met. She lived her life with joy and an abiding trust in God.

She is survived by her daughter, Jane and son-in -law Jim Roser of Crofton, MD; son, Wayne and daughter-in-law Linda Paul of Kings Mountain, NC; grandsons Daniel, David, and Eric; granddaughter Holly; and great grandchildren Haley, Max, Lula, Grace, and Andrew; a host of nieces and nephews; and countless friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 15, at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church near Sedalia. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
