Margaret Lodelle Walters, 80, of Sedalia, passed away Monday, June 20, 2016, at Bothwell Regional Health Center.

She was born November 11, 1935, in Sedalia, daughter of Elijah and Lida Edna Davis Cook.

On September 2, 1956, at East Sedalia Baptist Church, she was united in marriage to Edwin Albert Walters.

Margaret enjoyed gardening and cooking. She entered cooking competitions at the State Fair and was a “cookie champion.” She was kind, caring, never complained and always put others first. She was a great mom, grandma and great-grandma. She had a special love for her dog, Peanut.

In addition to her husband of 59 years, she is survived by four children, Rhonda Warnke (Dietrick), of Stover, Renay Walters Moriarty, of Branson, Rodney Walters (Tina), of Sedalia, and Rance Walters (Tiffany), of Sedalia; ten grandchildren, Justin Warnke, Lucas Warnke, Brenan Moriarty, Brooke Moriarty, Trenton Walters, Aaron Walters, Kaitlyn Walters, Rush Walters, Rachel Walters and Rexford Walters; two great-grandchildren, Cole Warnke and Claire Warnke; a brother, Milton Cook, of Arnold, MO; and a son-in-law, whom she considered a son, Bart Moriarty.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, John Cook; and two sisters, Maureen Cook and Ferrol Long.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 23, 2016, at Heckart Funeral Home, with the Rev. Michael Cooper officiating.

Casket bearers will be her grandsons. Honorary bearers will be her granddaughters.

Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until time of service Thursday at Heckart Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions are suggested to East Sedalia Baptist Church.
