Margarete Barbara “Margie” Evans, 67, of Sedalia, passed away at her home Friday, May 10, 2024.
She was born August 29, 1956, in Regensburg, Germany, a daughter of the late William Richard and Margarete (Stoiber) Keele. On December 31, 1990, in Sedalia, she married William Eugene Evans, who survives of the home.
Margie was a 1974 graduate of Smith-Cotton High School. She was of the Catholic faith.
She was a cook at Dickie Doo for 28 years. Her specialties included fried chicken, spicy spaghetti, corned beef and cabbage, gizzards and barbecued meats.
Margie enjoyed fishing, going to the boat, flower gardening and attending her grandkids’ games. She will be remembered as spicy and stubborn, but to know her was to love her.
In addition to her husband, survivors include two children, Monika Keele, of Sedalia, and Robert Merritt (Christa), of Lee’s Summit; three stepchildren, Mitchell Evans and Michael Evans, both of Sedalia, and Billy Evans (Lisa), of La Monte; 11 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and a sister, Jane Chancellor, of Sedalia.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Dave Keele and Mike Keele.
