Marian L. Ehlers, 81, of Sedalia, passed away Thursday, August 15, 2024 at University Hospital in Columbia, MO.
She was born on November 3, 1942 in Morgan County near Stover, MO, a daughter of Carl and Rita (White) Lemler. On September 11, 1960 at Christ Lutheran Church in Stover, she married Vern Dean Paul Ehlers. Vern Dean preceded her in death on May 29, 2011.
Marian was a graduate of Stover High School. She was a member of Christ and Trinity Lutheran Church in Sedalia joining the church in 1993. Early in their marriage Marian worked along side of her husband Vern Dean on their dairy farm. She also worked 10 years at the Morgan County R-I School and then for 19 years as a dental assistant for Dr. Robert Vit. Marian's greatest joy was the time she got to spend with her family especially her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include three children, Connie Spalding (Jeff), of Sedalia, Debbie Spalding (Craig) of Concordia, and Tim Ehlers (Angie) of Hughesville; eight grandchildren, Amber Spalding, Mallory Stull (Matthew), Trevor Spalding, Haley Spalding, Shelby Spalding, Conner Spalding, Kelsey Reynolds (Luke), and Jessica Pollitt (Chase); five great-grandchildren, William and Makayla Stull, Jeremiah, Charlotte, and Della Reynolds; one sister, Virgie Holsten of Stover; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to both of her parents and her husband she was preceded in death by one sister, Dorine Balke; and one brother, Ralph Lemler.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Monday, August 19, 2024 at Christ and Trinity Lutheran Church in Sedalia. Funeral services will start at 11:00 a.m. on Monday at the church with Rev. Anne Meredith Kyle officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Amber Spalding, Matt Stull, Luke Reynolds, Chase Pollitt, Conner Spalding, and Trevor Spalding. Honorary pallbearers will be Stuart Holsten, and Wayne Holsten. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Autism Research Institute.
