Marlene L. Brady, 93, of Sedalia, passed away Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at Katy Manor in Pilot Grove.
She was born May 14, 1931, in Sedalia, daughter of Louis Earl Arnold and Mary (Stratton) Arnold Finley. On June 24, 1951, in Sedalia, she was married to George William Brady Jr. They enjoyed 70 years together before he passed away on July 16, 2021.
Marlene accepted Jesus during Bible school at ten years old and was baptized into East Sedalia Baptist Church, where she was still a member. She enjoyed fishing, reading, sewing, embroidery, and jigsaw puzzles. She and George enjoyed making wood crafts and were past members of the Show-Me Crafters. She will be remembered as fun and caring. She loved her family dearly.
Surviving are two daughters, Debbie DeHaven (Bill), and Jana McNew (Daryl), both of Sedalia; five grandchildren, Michael DeHaven, Kevin DeHaven, Scott DeHaven, Jessica McNew, and Katy McNew; and five great-grandchildren, Olivia, Kadin, Lyssa, Ava, and Jordon.
Friends may pay their respects and sign the guest book between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday, August 19, 2024, at Heckart Funeral Home. There will be no formal visitation.
Graveside services will be held at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be Bill DeHaven, Daryl McNew, Michael DeHaven, Kevin DeHaven, Scott DeHaven, and Lyssa Sportsman.
Memorials are suggested to East Sedalia Baptist Church or Agape Care Hospice.
