Martha E. Jones

Martha Eleanor Jones, 90, of Sedalia, passed away Monday, June 27, 2022, at Austinburg Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Austinburg, OH.

She was born July 22, 1931, in Preston, MO, a daughter of the late Walter and Dollie (Cureton) Williams. On September 10, 1949, in Sedalia, she was married to William Earl Jones who preceded her in death on December 7, 2006.

Mrs. Jones worked at Lamy’s and Swift Turkey Hatchery. After retirement, she returned to the workforce and became a biscuit maker at West Hardee’s for a number of years.

She was a member of Emmet Avenue Baptist Church. She enjoyed playing cards, Scrabble, Dominoes and working puzzles with her husband.

Survivors include a son, Donald Jones (Janet), of Atchison, KS; a daughter, Shirley Lister (Robert), of Jefferson, OH; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Kenneth Jones and Gerald Jones; and two brothers, Vernon Williams and Edward Williams.

Graveside services and burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 2, 2022, at Crown Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Don Jones, Bob Lister, Jeremy Rush, Justin Russell, Carson Wehr and Brian Hamel.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until service time Saturday at Heckart Funeral Home.
