Martha Lee Golston, 82, of Sedalia, passed away Thursday, July 31, 2014, at her home.
She was born September 15, 1931, in Kansas City, daughter of Matt Lee and Daisy J. Hughes Brown. On October 27, 1949, in Kansas City, she married Ward T. Golston, who survives of the home.
Mrs. Golston was a bookkeeper at Inter-State Studio for many years and later worked for the Sedalia 200 School District in the cafeteria and as a teacher’s aide. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be remembered as a God-fearing woman and a wonderful mother and grandmother.
In addition to her husband, survivors include two daughters, Kimberly Cox (Charles), of Sedalia, and Karen Kain (David), of Smithton; three grandchildren, Jared, Andrea and Katy; and nine great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Eugene Brown.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday, August 4, at Heckart Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ted Francis officiating.
Casket bearers will be Charles Cox, David Kain, Jared Sanders, Kevin Vick, Carroll Howard and Norm Klein. Jason Mueller will be an honorary bearer.
Burial will be in Highland Sacred Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, August 3, at Heckart Funeral Home.
