Marvin E. Cole, 93, of Sedalia, passed away Sunday, April 7, 2013, at Ashland Villa in Ashland, MO.
He was born August 3, 1919, in Pettis County, son of Aubrey and Emma A. Kahrs Cole. Mr. Cole was a 1936 graduate of Smith-Cotton High School. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean campaign.
After the war, on November 22, 1945, in Sedalia, he married LaRuth G. Jaekel, who preceded him in death on February 6, 2005.
He retired from Coca-Cola Bottling Company after 45 years.
Survivors include three daughters, Gail Meyerhardt and Cheryl Johnson, both of Columbia, and Linda Carr, of Taos, N.M.; five grandchildren, Brian Johnson, Eric Johnson (Christine), Kelly Corson, Michelle Corsi (J) and Brittany Meyerhardt; two step-grandchildren, Ian Ogden and Amy Ogden; two great-grandchildren, Addison Cole Corsi and Caden Liam Corsi.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Glenora Bennett and Eunice Bennington.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Heckart Funeral Home, with the Rev. Tony Chapman officiating.
Casket bearers will be Danny Sapp, Richard Shanker, Doug Nechinecky, Brian Johnson, Eric Johnson and Kent Branson.
Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, with military honors by the U.S. Navy and VFW Post 2591.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time Wednesday at Heckart Funeral Home.
