Mary Agnes Ellison, 83, passed away Friday morning, June 23, 2017, in the loving arms of her son, Randy Ellison.
Mary was born in Sedalia, at her Aunt Eula Wade’s home on April 13, 1934, to Willa and Vincil Fry. She was the second child of three born to the Fry family. Mary was raised in Otterville, Missouri. She graduated salutatorian from Otterville High School in 1952. On February 28, 1952, she was united in marriage to Donald R. Ellison in Flippin, Arkansas. They were married for 65 years.
Mary and Donald were blessed with eight children: Vincil Ray Ellison, Linda Alcorn (Gayle), Randy Ellison, Sandra Jensen (David), Cindy Woolery (Doug), Rusty Ellison (Stacy), Donna Rowland (Brad), and William Ellison. Mary has Thirteen grandchildren: Jeremy, Jason, Michael, Michelle, Amanda, Ryan, Travis, Jessica, Jenna, Brady, Rachel, Leah, Willa and eleven great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Arthur Fry.
Mary was a very caring and loving Mom and Grandma. She made everyone around her feel special. This little woman had a “can do” spirit that was inspirational to all who knew her. She was an accomplished artist who had the ability to take needle and thread and make the most gorgeous quilts, clothing and costumes. She was adept in knitting as well as crocheting. She used her talents to restore antique furniture to its former grandeur, and plant her beautiful flower garden. Mary was also an amazing cook and loved to do so for her loved ones at elaborate parties she would host.
Mary worked on the family farm and grew peaches, corn, watermelon, cantaloupe and strawberries to sell. She worked at Interstate Studios for 40 years before she retired. Later in life, she enjoyed reading books and magazines, her Siamese cat, fish pond, and taking care of Molly (Randy’s Dog). She also enjoyed nature and loved to be outside watching the wild animals that would show themselves in the trees and fields.
Mary was preceded in death by her beloved Grandma Bertha Fry, her parents, her loving husband, and a brother, JD Fry.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 28, at Heckart Funeral Home, with Jeff Page officiating.
Pallbearers will be son-in laws: Doug Woolery, Gayle Alcorn, David Jensen, Brad Rowland, and Grandsons: Ryan Woolery and Travis Woolery.
Burial will directly follow services at Mt. Herman Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 27, at Heckart Funeral Home.
