Mary Alice Breshears, 84, Springfield, formerly of La Monte, passed away peacefully Saturday, February 22, 2014 in Life Path Hospice House, Sun City Center, FL.
She was born January 15, 1930 to Jessie and Edna Rayl. Alice attended La Monte High School, and married William Edwin Hampton Breshears in 1947. She was a devoted wife for 64 years, enjoyed being a homemaker and was a loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed retirement at TableRockLake and owning and operating Bass Haven Resort. For more than 20 years, she and her husband Ed enjoyed spending their winters in Florida.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband William Edwin Hampton; her brothers, Jack, Wilbur and Alvin Rayl; and sisters Bernice, Grace, Eunice and Deanie; and infant grandson, William Michael Volonte.
She is survived by two sons, Randy Breshears and wife, Cathy of Aurora, MO, Rudy Breshears and Deloris Gerasimatos of Sun City Center, FL; two daughters Debbie Miller and husband Roger of Sedalia, MO; Julie Breshears, of Springfield, MO; and 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 27, 2014 at 11 am with visitation at 10 am at Heckart Funeral Home, 903 S. Ohio Av, Sedalia, with Pastor Jim Downing officiating. Burial will be at La Monte Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to CHA Foundation, Compassus Hospice, 1465 E.
