In Loving Memory…

Mary Ann Harris, 89, passed away Tuesday March 2, 2021.

Born October 8, 1931 in Cleveland, OK, to Ray and Anise (Birchett) Morrison who preceded her in death.

Mary attended all 12 years of her education in Cleveland and upon graduation she was a telephone operator for five years. On January 11, 1952 she was married to James C. Harris and to this union two sons, James Craig and Randy Joel were born. The family moved to Sedalia, MO in 1965. She worked for three years at 1-Hour Martinizing Cleaners and 21 years as film editor at Inter-State Studio retiring in 1993 at which time she and her husband were caregivers to both her parents. She was also a caregiver to her husband, Jim, for 12 years while he was on dialysis and lost his eyesight. He preceded her in death in 2014.

She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church since 1965, having worked in VBS, Primary Department and Prayer Chairman.

She enjoyed mystery books and movies and was an avid fan of football, especially the KC Chiefs, Oklahoma U and Oklahoma State. She was known to have burnt more than one dinner while rooting for her teams.

She is survived by two sons, Craig, of rural Sedalia, and Randy of Raytown; one sister-in-law, Betty Jones, of Terlton, OK; two nieces and two nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother, Fenton Morrison; a baby sister, Karen Morrison; two sisters-in-law, Jo Ellen Morrison and Bessie Johnson; and two brothers-in-law, Jack Jones and Tally Johnson.

Mary Ann’s wishes were to be cremated.

A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, March 8, 2021, at Calvary Baptist Church, with Rev. Don Satterwhite officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. until service time Monday at the church.

Burial will be at a later date in Crown Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Sedalia Dialysis Clinic or Calvary Baptist Church.
