Mary Elizabeth Denny, 69, of Sedalia, passed away Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born September 14, 1955, in Sedalia, a daughter of the late Martin V. and Nevelle Jean (Page) Doogs. On September 14, 1979, she married Harold Park Denny who survives of the home.
Mary attended grade school at Walnut School, a one room country school, and Sacred Heart School. She was a 1973 graduate of Smith-Cotton High School.
She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Parish and cherished her prayer time at Adoration for 15 years.
Mary dedicated her life to her family, her work, and the things she loved most. She began her career at the Old Missouri Homestead, later working at Shyrack-Wright Grocery Warehouse, Mid-Mo Electric and Parkview Elementary. However, her greatest joy came from working alongside her beloved husband at their family business, Denny Sheet Metal, for 44 years.
She was a devoted grandmother who cherished every moment with her granddaughter, Quinn. She enjoyed spending time on the family farm, tending to her yard and flowers, and preparing delicious meals for her loved ones. She was a constant source of support for her children, and her loving, nurturing spirit will be deeply missed.
Mary's heart was also filled with love for her loyal companion, Beck Dog Denny, who brought her much joy and comfort. Her legacy of love, hard work, and dedication to her family will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
In addition to her husband, survivors include three children, Sabrina Denny, of Liberty, Megan Millsap (Marshal), of Sedalia, and Louis Denny (Skyler), of Hughesville; a granddaughter, Quinn Millsap; three siblings, Nancy Sparks, of Sedalia, Linda Hesse, of Cole Camp, and Frank Doogs (Teresa), of Sedalia; two sisters-in-law, Annie Doogs and Sharon Perkins (Earl), all of Sedalia; an aunt, Martha Jo Doogs, of Sedalia; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
