Mary Elta Bus, 75, of Sedalia, MO, passed away Tuesday, August 21, 2018, at EW Thompson Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born January 9, 1943, in Mexico, MO, daughter of Robert K. Jones and Elta (Uptegrove) Jones.
On December 21, 1960, in Lincoln, MO, she was married to John L. Bus.
Mary was a hard worker who was dedicated to her family. She loved gardening and tending her flowers, as well as reading, cooking, traveling and spending time with her grandchildren. She was always busy keeping her yard and especially liked spending time at the lake cabin.
Surviving are her husband, John L. Bus, of the home; a daughter, Pam Cook, and her husband, Scott, of Dallas, TX; two grandchildren, Blake Cook, and his wife, Tiffa, and Evan Cook, and his fiancé, Ashley, all of Dallas, TX; a great-granddaughter, Ruby; sister-in-law, Bonnie Jones, of Fayetteville, AR; sister-in-law, Joan Kelly, of California; and nieces and nephew, Valerie and Eric Snow, Roberta and Steve Faulkner, and Mike and Nonnie Jones.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Jones.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 25, at Heckart Funeral Home, with Chaplain Bill Douglas officiating.
Casket bearers will be Blake Cook, Evan Cook, Mike Jones, Glenn Webb, Joe Bode and Bradley Durian.
Honorary bearers will be Bill Bus, Diane Bode, Doug and Sherry Hein, and Ron Brockman.
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
