Mary Kathryn Mahin
Mary Kathryn Mahin, 93, of La Monte, passed away Friday evening, July 17, 2015, at her home at Winchester Meadows.
She was born November 13, 1921, in La Monte, daughter of Spencer Gordon and Anna Mae Dillon Wade. On October 19, 1942, in Houston, TX, she married Arthur E. Mahin, who survives of the home.
Mrs. Mahin was a member of La Monte Christian Church, where she taught Sunday School and helped with various ministries. She was a member of the La Monte American Legion Auxiliary. She was a housewife and enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, quilting, reading and made the best pie there ever was.
In addition to her husband, survivors include a son, Ronald Scott Mahin (Ilene), of Nocona, TX; a daughter, Arthea Wasson (Bobby), of Sedalia; five grandchildren, Melissa Mitchell (Nathan), Clinton Mahin, Emily Greer (Matt), Alice Megerman (Joseph), and Thea Carlyle (Kevin); seven great-grandchildren, Maci, Cece, Anna, Sara, Alex, Golda and Orli; a brother, Dean Wade (Martha), of Harrisburg; and a sister-in-law, Bettie Wade, of Warrensburg.
She was predeceased by her parents; and a brother, M.L. Wade.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 21, at La Monte Christian Church, with the Rev. Alan Morse and the Rev. Rodney Brown officiating.
Casket bearers will be Clinton Mahin, Nathan Mitchell, Matt Greer, Joseph Megerman, Kevin Carlyle, Jeremiah Wade, Dustin Mahin and Philip Mahin.
Honorary bearers will be Spencer Wade, Bob Shackles, Alan McCurdy and Tommy Mahin.
Burial will be in La Monte Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, July 20, at Heckart Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Show-Me Christian Youth Home.
