In Loving Memory…

Mary Lou Yeager, 86, of Sedalia, MO, passed away Thursday, September 10, 2015, at her home.

She was born in Sedalia, MO, on August 29, 1929, to Gus and Nona Mae Witte. She attended Smith-Cotton High School. She married Jim Yeager on February 2, 1948. Of this union they had three children.

She was one of the founders of Yeager’s Motorcycle Sales and Service in Sedalia at 16

th

and Ohio since 1956, beginning with a Harley Davidson dealership then later moving to the current location on Hwy 65. She loved visiting with everyone that came through the door.  She made many lifelong friends and was referred to as “Mom” or “Grandma” by so many.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim; her parents; brother, Jimmy Witte; sister, Dorothy Luckie; sister, Juanita Balko; and granddaughter, Carrie Yeager.

She is survived by her three children: Rick (Jennifer) Yeager, Joe (Nancy) Yeager, and Sharon (Ted) Twyman; her brother, John (Martha) Witte; two grandchildren: Angie (Josh) Kroeger and Larry (Jan) Yeager; three step-granddaughters: Sarah Davis, Michelle Wilson and Courtney Sweat; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; one great-great-granddaughter due in December; several step-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Bette Ruth Dowland; and an aunt, Lina Ferguson; and several nieces and nephews.

Her family was the most important thing to her.  She was a respected business woman who was successful in business while running a household and raising three children. She had a kind and generous heart, helping many along the way.

When asked recently, “Mary Lou when you meet up with Jim are you going to ride behind him or beside him on your own motorcycle?” She replied, “Oh hon, he already has one ready for me.”

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 16, at First United Methodist Church Celebration Center, with the Rev. Jim Downing officiating.

Casket bearers will be Larry Yeager, Josh Kroeger, Mike Rumsey, James Yeager, Ward Wollard and Jim Pasley.

Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 15, at Heckart Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Benton County Hospice or First United Methodist Church.
