Mary M. Bowlin

Mary Marie Bowlin, 97, of Sedalia, MO, passed away Thursday, February 22, 2018, at Golden Valley Hospital in Clinton.

She was born January 30, 1921, in Kansas City, KS, daughter of Claus S. Schmidt and Minnie (Swanson) Schmidt, who preceded her in death.

On May 20, 1939, in California, MO, she was married to Earl Perkins, Jr., who preceded her in death on January 16, 1980.

On August 15, 1987, in Sedalia, MO, she was married to Chester L. Bowlin, who preceded her in death on May 15, 2002.

Mrs. Bowlin was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ. She enjoyed golfing, traveling, playing Bridge, ballroom dancing, doing jigsaw puzzles, embroidery, hand quilting and paint-by-number paintings. Mary was an avid collector of clocks and clowns. She loved going to Las Vegas and had also traveled to Alaska and Hawaii.

Surviving are three children: Carol Womble (Larry), of Leeton, MO, Terry Perkins (Shirley), of Salem, MO, and Jeanne Nance (Ray), of Collins, MO; four grandchildren: David Perkins (Amber), of South Wales, NY, Jeff Schultz, of Duluth, GA, Natalie Manier (Chuck), of Houston, MO, and Marty Box (Tammy), of Green Ridge, MO; six great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Grace, Waylon, Kayden, LC Rae, and Avery; and a sister, May Decker, of Camdenton, MO.

She was also preceded in death by a sister in infancy.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 26, at Heckart Funeral Home, with Pastor Cathy Jurgens officiating.

Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time Monday at the funeral home.
