Mary-Nancy (Moore) Smith

Mary-Nancy Moore Smith, 39, passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness at her home on July 13, 2018.

Mary-Nancy was born on August 10, 1978, in Odessa, TX. She lived in both Abilene and Waco, TX, during her growing up years. She graduated from Connally High School in 1996, and graduated from Abilene Christian University in Abilene, TX, in 2003, with a degree in Human Communications. She also earned a degree in Cosmetology from South Plains College in Levelland, TX.

On February 17, 2004, she married the love of her life, Cody Smith. Mary-Nancy’s passion was helping others. She loved doing hair. She treasured the students she taught at Prairie Home, MO. She also started her own business, “Eagle Eye Editing” and helped a score of authors prepare their books for publication.

Mary-Nancy is survived by her husband, Cody; her parents, Michael and Helen Moore, of Groesbeck, TX; her sister, Jenni Langston, of Groesbeck, TX; her brother and sister-in-law, Wayland and Robin Lesly, of Baytown, TX; and by her two nieces and nephew, Percaya, Kali and Aerik Langston. She is also survived by her two special aunts of the heart, Billie Mayes of Abilene, TX, and Linda Bragg, of Commanche, TX.

Mary-Nancy leaves behind a host of friends and loved ones all over the world. She had a special affection for her puppy dogs-Little Bear, Fluffy and Ralph.

Mary-Nancy was a Christian and now rests without pain in the arms of Jesus.

Her family will miss their “Murry.”

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 17, at Heckart Funeral Home in Sedalia.

The family will receive friends from 5:30 p.m. until service time Tuesday at the funeral home.
