Mary Oleta Dawson, 63, of Sedalia, passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2018, at her sister’s home in Sedalia, surrounded by her family.

She was born March 25, 1954, in Sedalia, daughter of Roy C. and Oleta B. (Skaggs) Miller.

On October 10, 1981, in Sedalia, she was married to Robert E. Dawson.

Mary worked for Starline Brass for twenty years. She was baptized at Parkview Christian Church in 1991. She enjoyed shopping, music, singing, and being around her family, especially her grandkids. Mary would do anything for anybody. She was a sweet, thoughtful, gentle and loving lady who will be fondly remembered and greatly missed.

Surviving are her husband, Robert, of the home; a son, Kevin Dawson (fiancée, Shannon Lewis), of Sedalia; three grandchildren, Zion, Kail and Adeline Dawson; four siblings, Roy C. Miller Jr. of Topeka, KS, Elizabeth Craig (Larry), of Sedalia, Marilyn Miller, of Sedalia, and Leonard Miller (Melissa), of Lee’s Summit; and brother-in-law, Dennis Dawson, of Sedalia.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Virginia Marie (Miller) Alvarado, and Sharon K. (Miller) Hudson; and a brother, David Lee Miller.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, March 11, at Heckart Funeral Home, with Anthony Martin officiating.

Casket bearers will be Kevin Dawson, Anthony Martin, Bruce Wasson, Patrick Perry, Keith Cook, Jason Kleoppel and Casey Jones.

Honorary bearers will be Paul Evans and Dennis Dawson.

Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
