Melvin Dale Cramer, 71, of Sedalia, passed away Tuesday, November 3, 2020, at Sylvia G. Thompson Residence Center.
He was born August 3, 1949, in Longwood, son of George and Mary (Rumsey) Cramer.
On September 15, 1967, he married Linda K. Reed.
On April 18, 1987, he married Diane E. Nauman.
Melvin worked as a welder for Parkhurst Manufacturing. He also farmed, was a truck driver, and was a rodeo clown for a time. He enjoyed driving race cars, motorcycles, hunting, fishing and camping. Melvin was a jokester, didn’t know a stranger and was very family oriented. He loved his girls and his grandkids.
He is survived by four daughters, Tamra Garcia, of Concordia, Jennifer Hughes, of Concordia, Sherry Kellogg and husband Justin, of Marshfield, and Mary Cramer and partner Trista, of Kansas City; four granddaughters, Stephanie, Madison, Kaitlyn, Sapphire; two grandsons, James and Josiah; a brother, Gene Cramer; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by both of his wives; his parents; and two brothers, Richard Cramer and Leslie Cramer.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 8, 2020, at Heckart Funeral Home, with Rev. Jim Downing officiating.
Casket bearers will be Omer Conroe, Glen Conroe, Walter Conroe, Adam Chenault, Stephen Chenault and Michael Hertel.
Honorary bearers will be James Curd and Adam Shephard.
Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time Sunday at the funeral home.
