Michael L. Stotts, Jr.

Michael Lee Stotts, Jr., 42, of Smithton, was born June 12, 1974, son of Michael L. Stotts, Sr. and Diana K. DuRoche Stotts Beaman, in Sedalia. He passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2016, at his home.

“Mikey” as he was affectionately known to all, married Chasatee LaNae Hart, January 19, 1995. To that union four children were born, Michael Lee Stotts, III, of Bunceton, Seth Tyler Stotts, Kayla Diane Stotts and Kristin Elizabeth Stotts, all of California, along with their mother.

Mikey was a 1992 graduate of Otterville High School.

Mikey was a great guy who was a kid at heart. He loved to be a rebel and wear his rebel hat to get a rise from his sister. He enjoyed watching cartoons and comedy shows. He was an excellent card player and remembered his numbers well, whether a phone number, birth date, anniversary or event.

Mikey overcame past struggles and had accepted the Lord Jesus our Savior. He was a member of First Baptist Church Otterville, although not actively involved. He carried his faith with him daily.

In addition to his wife and children he is survived by his father; a brother, John Beaman III (Debbie), of Sedalia; a sister, Christie Thierfelder (Les), of Smithton; his step father, John P. Beaman, Jr., of Otterville; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Most recently Mikey resided in Smithton at the home of his niece, Sara Thierfelder Reusch (Scott). Mikey had recently become very close to his great nephews, Alex, Sawyer, Aiden, Mason and Jameson. He proudly welcomed his newest niece Jenevieve this past summer.

He was preceded in death by his mother in 1991, just a year prior to his graduation from high school; and both maternal and paternal grandparents.

A memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 15, 2016, at Heckart Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until time of service Saturday at Heckart Funeral Home.
