Michael Earl McElhany, 64, of Sedalia, passed away Sunday, May 29, 2022, at Rest Haven Convalescent Home.
He was born December 16, 1957, in Harrisonville, MO, a son of Earl Odell and Mary Frances (Marsh) McElhany.
Michael was a graduate of Smith-Cotton High School in Sedalia. He was a free spirit and fun-loving person. He liked Rock-n-Roll music and Joe Walsh. Michael loved animals especially wolves. He was very good at growing and tending to house plants, two of his favorite plants he named Dad and Mom. In his younger days Michael played the organ at the Episcopal church and would take motorcycle rides with his English Sheep dog setting on the gas tank. He was always making something from wood and has a collection of toys and crafts. Michael will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Survivors include one sister, Elaine Ahrlett of Kingsland, TX; three brothers, James McElhany of Walters, OK, Robert McElhany of Seymour, IN, Patrick McElhany of Edgewater, CO; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to both of his parents Michael was preceded in death by one sister, Helen J. Urton.
There are no services scheduled for Michael at this time. Inurnment will be held in the Wills Cemetery in Peculiar, MO. Arrangements are in the care of Heckart Funeral Home in Sedalia, MO.
