Myrtle I. Hanning, 89, of Clifton City, passed away Saturday, February 27, 2021, at Jefferson City Nursing and Rehab Center.
She was born September 25, 1931, in Clifton City, daughter of Sherman and Agnes (Davis) Todd.
On June 19, 1949, in Sedalia, she was married to Charles Douglas Argenbright, who died in 1969. On May 1, 1970, in Sedalia, she was married to Raymond Hanning, who died in 1989.
Myrtle attended Clifton City School through the eighth grade. She worked as a seamstress for Lamy’s, and as a caregiver/aide at Bothwell Regional Health Center and Fair View Nursing Home. She was of the Pentecostal faith. She enjoyed playing Bingo, cards, and more Bingo, as well as playing scratchers and going to the casino. Her love for her family was paramount and she enjoyed each and every one of them. She loved flowers, mushroom hunting, picking greens and cooking / eating. She was known for her world-famous noodles and popcorn balls. Myrtle enjoyed spending time at the Sedalia Senior Center and was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
Survivors include two sons, William Herb Argenbright (Kelly) of Sedalia, and R.D. Hanning (Genan) of Tipton; a daughter, Helen Gross (Donald) of Clarksburg; a brother, Theodore Todd of Oak Grove; a sister, Madora Stroup of Nelson; eighteen grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by a son, Charles E. Argenbright on April 19, 2000; two daughters, Norma Bishop on June 2, 2015 and Connie Gross on March 3, 2013; a grandson, William Bishop on February 2, 2018; and ten brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 4, 2021, at Heckart Funeral Home, with David Perkins officiating.
Burial will be in Providence Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 3, 2021, at Heckart Funeral Home.
