Nancy Ann Leary
Nancy Ann Leary, 78, of Sedalia, MO, passed away Saturday, December 29, 2018, peacefully at her home surrounded by family. She was born May 3, 1940, in Buffalo, New York; the daughter of Paul G. and Alfrieda L. (Nemeschy) Reiner.
On April 21, 1961, in Newton, Massachusetts, she was united in marriage to John Ross Leary, who survives of the home. They moved to Sedalia, Missouri in 1968 where they have lived for the past 50 years. Three children were born to this union, Scott John Leary, Pamela Jane Leary Kennedy and Timothy Paul Leary.
Nancy was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Sedalia, MO. She was baptized on June 2, 1940, by her grandfather, Reverend Edward M. Nemeschy and confirmed on May 30, 1954. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority in Sedalia. Nancy enjoyed working around the home, caring for her flowers and spending precise time with her husband. She was an avid sports fan always watching a ball game and cheering on her favorite teams. Her most cherished times were when she was with her family. She enjoyed the holidays in particular, making each one special and memorable for her children and grandchildren. She so loved life and it was her family that brought her the most happiness and joy.
She is survived by a son, Scott Leary and his wife Melanie of Jefferson City, a daughter, Pam Kennedy of Sedalia; a son, Tim Leary of Sedalia; five grandchildren, Danielle Richardson and her husband Andrew, McKenzy Kennedy, Drew Leary, Tanner Leary and Trenten Leary; two great-grandchildren, Emersyn and Berkley Richardson; one sister, Jane Allen and her husband Roger of Frederick, MD.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Trevor Leary and son-in-law, Dan Kennedy.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 5, 2019, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Sedalia, MO with Reverend Jeremy Freeman officiating. A reception will follow her service at the Church.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date at Memorial Park Cemetery, Sedalia, MO.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, Sedalia, MO.
Arrangements are in the care of Heckart Funeral Home in Sedalia, MO.
