Neal Dewayne Charles was born in Kansas City, MO on February 5, 1977. Three and a half weeks later he joined his adoptive parents, Willis and Betsy Charles, in Sedalia, MO, where he lived until his death on Saturday, April 23, 2022.

Neal was baptized on April 3, 1977 by Dr. George Kern and on April 8, 1990 with Confirmation Class became a full member of First United Methodist Church. As he grew up, he was very active in youth activities at the church. One of his favorite things was attending Church Camp at Camp Galilee in Eldorado Springs, MO. He had a very strong love for animals and also loved young children of which several called him Uncle Neal.

He attended Smith-Cotton High School and later received his GED from State Fair Community College. One of his hobbies was working on computers and had built several from scratch. He was employed at The Detail Shop for over 23 years.

A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, May 6, 2022, at the First United Methodist Church Celebration Center, 1701 W. 32

nd

St., in Sedalia. A visitation will be held from 1:30 p.m. until service time Friday at the church. A private burial will be in Houstonia Cemetery.

Memorial contributions are suggested to First United Methodist Church in care of Heckart Funeral Home.
