Norma L. Perkins

On May 12, 2017, Norma Lee Perkins, of Sedalia, passed from this world into eternal peace and joy.

She was born April 3, 1942, in Kansas City, MO, daughter of John Isaac Carter and Dorothy Isabelle Nichol Carter.

On December 29, 1994, in Sedalia, she was united in marriage to Herbert Eugene Perkins.

Mrs. Perkins was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church, where she was involved in the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League. She had worked as a banker for U.S. Bank. Her hobbies included knitting and traveling, especially going on cruises.

Surviving are her husband, Gene, of the home; eight children: Elizabeth Stone, of Raymond, CA, Donald Dereberry, of Manassas, VA, Kimberly Dereberry, of Overland Park, KS, Timothy Dereberry, of Las Vegas, NV, Michael Dereberry, of Rolla, MO, Mark Dereberry, of West Bend, WI, Kathryn Bennett, of Vero Beach, FL, and Brett Perkins, of New York; fifteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Janet K. Carter and Pamela Rae Carter.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 16, at Our Savior Lutheran Church, with Pastors Andrew Tessone and Chris Kellogg officiating.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the church.

Casket bearers will be Donald Dereberry, Timothy Dereberry, Michael Dereberry, Mark Dereberry, Mel Garrett and Bob Wheeler. John Meyer will be an honorary bearer.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice Compassus or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
