Patricia Annita Farris, 83, of Sedalia, MO, passed away Sunday, January 29, 2023, at her home, surrounded by family.

She was born May 23, 1939, in Savannah, MO, a daughter of the late Claude B. and Wilma E. (Mann) Griggs. On November 28, 1957, in Kansas City, MO, she was married to James E. Farris, who survives of the home.

Pat was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Parish. She would help with the Sacred Heart Bazaar and donate her cakes and pies as she was known to be an excellent baker.  She expressed her love by preparing food for anyone who was hungry.

Pat volunteered her time with Meals on Wheels for over 20 years. She coached her children’s baseball and softball teams, enjoyed fishing, spending time at the lake and square dancing.   Pat loved to paint and took painting classed with her grandson, Jimmy. She enjoyed watching all her hummingbirds come to feed, collecting fancy tea pots and beautiful bells.  Pat loved her family, all children and couldn’t resist puppies.

In addition to her husband Jim, of 65 years, survivors include three children, James R. Farris (Deborah), of Bunceton, Patricia Sue Haase (Dean), of Sedalia, and Elizabeth Nedderman (Bradley), of Sedalia; five grandchildren, Leland, Charlotte, Jessecca, Rachel and Kimber; and eight great-grandchildren; Vance, Kyla, Tanner, Kenley, Shelby, Teygan, Jordan & Easton

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, John Farris; two grandsons, Jimmy Anderson and Craig Farris; three sisters, Lena, Jessie and Clara; and one brother, Clyde.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 2, 2023, at St. Vincent de Paul Parish, Sacred Heart Chapel, with Fr. Joe Corel officiating. Prayers of the Rosary will begin at 10:00 am with visitation to follow until service time.

Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery at a later date.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association.
