With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Patricia Ann (Anderson) Barklage, aged 78, on Sunday, April 21, 2024, at Citizens Memorial Hospital in Bolivar, MO, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on January 10, 1946, in Longwood, MO, Patricia was the daughter of Garland and Laura (Zumwalt) Anderson. On September 22, 1964, in Sedalia, MO, she united in marriage with Ted Barklage, who remains to honor her memory.
Patricia was more than just a mother; she was a beacon of warmth and kindness. Her legacy is one of unconditional love and open doors. Her home was a sanctuary for many, offering a warm meal and a comforting place to sleep. Her generosity knew no bounds, and her legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched.
She leaves behind her devoted husband of 60 years, Ted, and their children: Robert Barklage; Melissa Wade (Matt); Craig Barklage (Alicia); Tedi Hayden (Justin) - all of Lee’s Summit, MO. She is also survived by her brother, Charlie Anderson (Sara) of Sedalia, MO; nine grandchildren; two great-grandsons; and one more blessing on the way.
Patricia was greeted in heaven by her parents, her daughter Crystal (Barklage) Richardson, and nine siblings. Their memories will forever be intertwined with hers.
A private burial will take place at Longwood Cemetery in Longwood, MO. The arrangements are entrusted to the compassionate care of Heckart Funeral Home in Sedalia.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Ronald McDonald house or a local charity continuing Patricia’s legacy of compassion.
In loving memory of Patricia, we honor a remarkable soul whose warmth, generosity, and captivating stories touched the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her spirit of giving will forever inspire us. As we bid farewell, may she find eternal peace.
