Patricia Sue Embree, 72, of Sedalia, passed away Sunday, October 22, 2023 at her home.
She was born January 26, 1951, in Sedalia, daughter of the late Homer Wesley “Mutt” and Helen Sue (Bobbitt) Embree.
Pat was a 1969 graduate of Smith-Cotton High School, 1971 graduate of State Fair Community College and attended Southern Missouri State University.
She worked at Inter-State Studio. She then worked in order processing for Adco until her retirement in 2010 when they closed. In her retirement years, she enjoyed volunteering for the Foster Grandparent program at Skyline School and more recently at Head Start.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Pat loved to dance at the Moose Club and First United Methodist Church. She also helped teach dance classes at Olsen West. She enjoyed cooking, planning and hosting gatherings for her family and Olsen West. Family was central to her life and she was a loving aunt to her nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She always enjoyed traveling when possible.
Survivors include two brothers David Embree (Kathy), of Sedalia, and Dan Embree (Dana), of Hollister; an uncle, Dale Embree (Phyllis), of Blue Springs; four nieces and nephews Stephen Embree (Amanda), Adam Embree (Shara), all of Olathe, KS, Kelly Embree, of Hollister, and Max Embree, of Springfield; and seven great-nieces and great-nephews Kira, Julian, Elim, Dax, Ava, Dani and Kinsley.
Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Friday, October 27, 2023 at Heckart Funeral Home with Rev. Candace Fowler officiating.
Pallbearers will be Stephen Embree, Adam Embree, Max Embree, Greg Embree, Randy Welch and Karl Zinke.
Visitation will be 1:00 pm until service time.
Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorial contributions are suggested to First United Methodist Church or the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation in care of Heckart Funeral Home.
