Pearl Highsmith, 84, of Sedalia, passed away Wednesday, December 25, 2013, at Four Seasons Living Center.
She was born November 28, 1929, in Buhl, Alabama, daughter of James Jefferson and Flora Lee Sellers Reynolds. On August 19, 1955, in Prattville, Alabama, she married Daniel M. Highsmith, who died December 30, 1995.
Pearl owned and operated the Bali-Hi Motel from 1967 to 1975. She was a housewife and mother, and enjoyed sewing and gardening.
Surviving are a daughter, Tammy Kendrick, and husband, Monty, of Sedalia; grandsons, Danny and David Stewart, of Akron, Ohio; granddaughter, Trista Kendrick, of Sedalia; sister, Mattie Hill, of Tampa, Florida; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Johnny Lou and Ed Hunt, of Sanford, Florida; and two stepsons, Danny Highsmith, and his wife, Helen, and Mike Highsmith, all of Jacksonville, Florida.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Trudy Firth.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 28, at Heckart Funeral Home, with Jeff Page, Funeral Celebrant officiating.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
