Phillip Monroe Rayl, 81, of Sedalia, died Sunday, February 24, 2019, at Sylvia G. Thompson Residence Center.
He was born January 21, 1938, in Sedalia, son of Granville Rayl and Gertrude (Lindsey) Rayl.
On March 17, 1979, in Des Moines, IA, he married Luetta (Wyatt) Rayl.
Phillip was a graduate of Smith-Cotton High School. He worked at Consumer’s Market until it closed, and then became a contract mail deliverer. He was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He enjoyed collecting trains, and had a love for music, of which he also had a large collection. Phillip loved helping people and was always willing to do whatever he could to lend a hand.
Surviving are his wife, Luetta, of Sedalia; a son, Jonathan Rayl, of Kansas City; a daughter, Janetta Wood, of Sedalia; four grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; a sister, Cathy Mahnken, of Sedalia; and a brother, Lynn D. Rayl, of New York.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wives, Anna Mae and Vivian.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 2, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Watchtower Society.
