Phyllis D. Robertson
Phyllis D. Robertson, 88, of Sedalia, passed away Friday, September 7, 2018, at Sylvia G. Thompson Residence Center.
She was born December 20, 1929, in Otterville, a daughter of Fred B. and Frieda (Brodersen) Holman.
Phyllis accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at the age of twelve and was baptized in Flat Creek.
On June 6, 1948, at the Otterville Methodist parsonage, by Rev. H.A. Wood, she was united in marriage to Sherman LeRoy “Roy” Robertson.
Mrs. Robertson lived in Syracuse and Smithton several years before coming to Sedalia. She worked at Smithton Bank and Beverly’s before retiring, and then became a Mimi to many children whom she loved and cared for.
Surviving are her daughter, Cindy Hansen (husband, Darryl); two granddaughters, Cassandra Craighead (husband, Steve) and Tamara Copas (husband, Chad); four great-grandchildren, Cody Kozak, Brooklyn Copas, Madysin Copas and Elizabeth Copas; a great-great-granddaughter, Lanie Rose Copas; and a sister, Shirley Driskell, of Independence.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband on May 14, 2010. They were married 61 years.
She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Sedalia. She enjoyed spending time with her family, and baking and cooking.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 12, at Heckart Funeral Home, with Rev. Duane Duchesne and Jeff Page officiating.
Casket bearers will be Cody Kozak, Steve Craighead, Mike Driskell, Dusty Cunningham, Louis Schuster and Kent Juhl.
Honorary casket bearers will be Darryl Hansen and Chad Copas.
Burial will be in Syracuse Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to New Hope Baptist Church or Syracuse Cemetery.
